Introduction:
The Environmental and Social Safeguards in Development Projects Training Course equips participants with practical skills to identify, assess, and manage environmental and social (E&S) risks associated with development projects. It focuses on compliance with international safeguard standards such as those of the World Bank, IFC Performance Standards, AfDB, and national regulations. Participants will learn how to design and implement effective safeguard systems that protect people, ecosystems, and institutional reputations.

This hands-on program emphasizes the importance of integrating E&S safeguards at all stages of the project cycle—from planning and design to monitoring and closure. Through case studies and simulations, participants will gain technical expertise in impact assessment, stakeholder engagement, grievance management, and sustainable mitigation strategies.
